James X. Liu was born into a family that hated snakes. So in the ultimate act of defiance, he became a herpetologist (one who studies reptiles). Now he's a filmmaker, wildlife veterinarian and conservationist for the Turtle Conservancy. James created Anapsid on a whim one blustery winter day in 2016.
This path has led him through deserts, rainforests, mountains, and the concrete jungle. James currently lives in New York City in the world's smallest apartment, with several "roommates" – his tortoise R2D2, two snakes, and his trusty cameras.
He misses California dearly.
